Here we go again!!! Snow Day #2

As I said in my previous post....snow is a rare thing in Las Vegas. Well, it happened again today. We haven't received as much as we did on Monday, but there is most likely more on the way. I am adding the following link to the paper that said Las Vegas McCarran Airport has officially closed along with most of the roads into and out of Las Vegas. I told Chris to throw the truck into four wheel drive before he heads home! http://www.lvrj.com/news/36335684.html This was the perfect day to stay home and make my pretzels.....but I had to be running kids here and there. But, we are now home for the afternoon and enjoying the snow. The following pictures are from down on the Strip....even when we get snow up here in the "foothills" it rarely snows all across town. Here's a link to the severe weather statement!

SNOW DAY!!!!

Nothing like a little of the "white stuff" to get you in the holiday spirit! Every once in awhile....we get a little snow and today was the day! The kids were at school, but as soon as they got home, the neighborhood descended on our back yard for some snow ball fights. It won't last long...so we must enjoy it while we can.
Not bad for Vegas!

Lexi and Drake.

Even Batman (aka Tanner) enjoys the white stuff!

Jorgensen Family Reunion

The Jorgensen family reunion was held at the end of July at Bear Lake. The first night we all prepared a dutch oven dish and shared it with the whole group. Scott and Amy prepared the most delicious turkey that they roasted on a special turkey cooker. Here is Grandpa Jay carving up the turkey!

Uncle Burke is always a big hit with the kids (and the adults, too!) Chris bought these blow up tubes (?) and the kids went to town on Uncle Burke!

Our little "fishies" spent hours digging in the sand and playing in the water.
We took our ATV's up to the family reunion. They really came in handy shuttling people back and forth from the reunion to the beach.

Mountain Wildflowers

The flowers in Jackson Hole are so beautiful in the summer. Here are a few pictures.....

Hike at Jenny Lake

Three cute boys!
This was not the actual hiking trail....but the boys had to do a little climbing on the side. They LOVE to climb.
There was a lot of water coming off of the waterfall. More water than we have seen in the past.
On our way back down the trail, we got caught in a major thunderstorm that included marble sized hail. A little boy (not one of ours) came running down the trail yelling, "it's raining ice cubes!" We had to laugh. Unfortunately, we had to wait in a very long line at the dock to ride the ferry back across the lake. We got very wet!
Parker decided this "wasn't very fun!" Oh well.....!!!!

More Jackson Fun!

Dinner at the Bar J Chuckwagon dinner show. Good food and fun music and entertainment. A fun "western" experience.
Grandma Ida and Grandpa Jay.

Carter, Tanner and Parker.

At Teton Village the boys went on the "Legacy Jumper." They were strapped into harnesses, attached to bungee cords and started jumping on the trampolines. The assistants helped the boys jump super high. Tanner was a little nervous right at first, but then he couldn't stop giggling! When they were all done, he wanted to go again.

Look at those smiles!

The Snake River

On Friday night we took a float trip down the snake river. We had a fun time and got to see a few animals.

We saw several otters on the river banks.
We were able to see this mama and baby moose on the side of the road right after our float trip.

We also saw a couple of eagles.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

In July, we took Grandma and Grandpa Jorgensen to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This is one of our favorite vacation spots. We spent an afternoon walking around the town square and looking in the shops. Here the boys tried on hats with Grandpa Jay.

The next stop was the boys' favorite place......the candy store. We tried to be conservative, but we still managed to haul out of there with quite a load!

Enjoying their candy while waiting for dad.
We always feel at home in Jackson at our Peterson family condo in Teton Shadows.

The condo just finished a kitchen remodel and we have beautiful new cabinets. Also hanging on the wall was this beautiful quilt that my Aunt Joan made for the cabin. It added such a nice touch to the condo.
